At the end of the book, knowing that everything would be okay, Sophie makes a tough decision that may change her life. With the support of her childhood friends, she struggles to make sense of her life. She questions her feelings for Dylan, a boy who she thought was the guy of her dreams, and Robin Murphy, a social outcast who she eventually develops strong feelings for. She describes her relationships with a series of boys and her relationship with her parents or lack thereof. She describes her innermost thoughts and feelings of her daily life as a teenage girl.
